Victorian Pharmacy On BBC 2

Posted by Viola Woolcott

I’m just watching Episode One of Four of the recreated authentic 19th century Victorian Pharmacy on BBC 2. You know me, it’s all natural, so I find it very interesting. I’m amazed at what remedies they make with ingredients like the oil of earthworms, opium, a natural cough medicine laced with Cannabis and Morphine. Not to mention the traditional blood sucking Leeches.

  1. You might be interested to know that we still make a traditional cough syrup like that on Victorian Pharmacy BBC2. Napiers Herbal Cough and Chest Syrup is a licensed herbal medicine containing horehound, lobelia, senega, acetum scillae and pleurisy root. We opened our doors in 1860!

  2. Hi Monica – That sounds GREAT. I hope many people will check your site. http://www.napiers.net ;-)
