Refined Sugar, Toxic Sweet Poison

Refined Sugar, Toxic Sweet Poison

By Viola Woolcott

Refined sugar is lethal when ingested by humans. It is a poison as it has been depleted of its life forces, vitamins and minerals. What is left is pure, refined carbohydrates. It provides only that which nutritionists describe as empty or naked calories. Sugar drains. It leaches the body of valuable vitamins and minerals.

Your body converts all foods to glucose. BUT foods like meat, vegetables, fruits have an important factor and that is that they have Vitamins, Minerals, Enzymes as well as Amino Acids which support in the digestion. Sugar has none of the above to support in the absorption or digestion. It puts the body at a severe nutritional disadvantage.

If sugar is taken every day, it produces a constant over acidic state of health. To rectify the imbalance, more and more reserves that are deep within the body are required. To protect the blood calcium is taken from the bones as well as the teeth which will then start to decay and weakening begins. Every organ in the body will be under attack by excess sugar intake. The liver will store the excess intake in form of glucose. A daily intake of refined sugars will make the liver expand like a balloon and the excess glucose will return into the blood as fatty acids which will be stored in the most awkward places like belly, buttocks, thighs as well as breasts.

Sugar suppresses (depresses) your immune system. It is high in calories, has zero nutritional value. It can cause autoimmune diseases like arthritis, MS (multiple sclerosis) and asthma. Sugar doesn’t contain fibre and it has been proven to be responsible for tooth decay, obesity and even diabetes. It can contribute to osteoporosis and other illnesses, as it interferes with the body’s natural ability to absorb certain important minerals. Cancer cells ‘feeds’ of sugar, they have long been associated with ovarian, breast, pancreatic, lung, gallbladder, stomach as well as prostate cancer. Learning capacity is reduced and it can even cause learning disorders. There is NO doubt that sugar intake affects children’s quality of work in school. Sugar raises blood pressure, causes gallstones, gastrointestinal problems, appendicitis, varicose veins and yes, even haemorrhoids. The sweet poison can cause premature aging, deterioration of the eyesight, Alzheimer’s and is also known to play a role in some cases of heart disease and atherosclerosis. It can upset the body’s mineral balance, contribute to hyperactivity, anxiety, concentration problems, crankiness in children, rise in triglycerides, cause drowsiness as well as decrease activity in children. Sugar can cause hypoglycaemia, kidney damage and it can weaken the defence against bacterial infection as well as encourage an increase of harmful cholesterol. It may lead to chromium and copper deficiency, interfere with the absorption of magnesium and calcium, produce an acidic stomach and raise adrenalin levels in children. The risk of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis increase due to high intakes of sugar. Sugar causes food allergies, toxaemia during pregnancy, contributes to eczema, overstress the pancreas, damages the lining of the capillaries, causes fluid retention as well as causing liver cells to divide, which would lead to an increase in the size of the liver. Sugar has also been known to cause hormonal imbalances as well as hypertension, headaches including migraines, increase risk of strokes and blood clots as well as bacterial fermentation in the colon and it can increase in delta, alpha and theta brain waves, which are known to alter the mind’s capability to think clearly. And what about yeast infection? Candida and sugar is a definite NO.

The list is endless.

Sugar can be replaced with Stevia, Organic Raw Honey, Organic Maple Syrup, Organic Agave Syrup and even Fruit Sugar.
