Pineal Gland, Melatonin, Breast Cancer, CFS and Electromagnetic Waves
Pineal Gland, Melatonin, Breast Cancer, CFS and Electromagnetic Waves

The pineal gland sits in the centre of our heads, is roughly the size of a pea and weighs 50-150mg. Its shape and structure resembles that of a pine cone, this being the basis for its name when discovered. From the age of 25 the gland starts to shrink, meaning the rate at which hormones are produced is slowed down. But it does have the potential to rejuvenate the immune
system if kept healthy. Scientists have found the pineal important to our general health and immunological functioning. It has the power to slow down the age process. Sadly, Western society’s life style is beginning to have a visible effect on the pineal gland. Overloaded with technology in the home, externally and in professional environments this is almost certain to cause
malfunctioning of the gland. This will increase illness amongst an expanding percentage of Americans and the British alike.
The gland is significant to us biologically as well as spiritually due its function as a neuro-hormone secretor and its quality of being able to send and receive subtle energy electromagnetic waves. One of the chemicals produced by the gland is Melatonin. It has been documented that when not enough Melatonin is produced, this can be the origin of a dysfunctional immune system. Melatonin is needed to govern various hormones found in the body. Lack of it can be indicated by various symptoms labelled Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), as well as other immune deficiency related disorders and postmenopausal osteoporosis and cancerous cells in women and men. These all relate either to the antioxidant function of melatonin or the surge of hormones caused by the absent regulator melatonin and cant always be cured by conventional medicine but have to be treated rudimentarily. CFS takes the form of many symptoms including insomnia, depression and anxiety. It can be described as a ‘vibratory flu’ as there has been no virus found in connection with it.
Studies have been conducted by the US National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) of the effects on the body from extreme low-frequency electro-magnetic fields (ELF-EMF)in the range of 50-60 Hz, centring on the ELF field actions in the Pineal Gland. An assumption has been made, called the ‘Melatonin Hypotheses’ which suggests that EMF’s reduce the pineal glands ability to produce melatonin. Melatonin is a free radical scavenger and has the potential to alleviate stress, stress being a
basic factor in a wide array of human degenerative disorders e.g. Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease, coronary artery disease and ageing. There is too strong link between the normal daily melatonin rhythm being disturbed, and the oestrogen receptor formation in the breasts being changed. This has prompted research to be carried out on the a possible link between ELF field exposure and breast cancer. The findings suggest that we should stop exposing ourselves to these ELF-EMF fields as MUCH AS POSSIBLE, which with today’s technology is hard. These fields are to be found all around us in ALL electrical devices such as radios, electric toothbrushes, TV’s, electric razors to name but a few. In short, all electrical devices! Mobile phones are also bad. How many of you drive the car with your phone between your legs.? These need to be avoided/switched off as often as possible. Metal bed frames and metal appliances in the home are also bad as they of course attract electricity and conduct it. As EMF’s have only become widespread since the 2nd world war, we are still unsure as to the long term effects of exposure, we just know the effects are undesirable! Babies have to deal with EMFs from the day they are born. We need to re-evaluate our relationship with electricity.
To function normally the pineal gland needs a balance of light and dark supply. This is transferred to it via the retina of the eyes. Preferably there should be no interference of low-frequency, man-made EMF’s. Melatonin is produced properly when exposed to complete darkness. Light inhibits melatonin secretion. In the modern world there is too much light pollution and plays a big role in stressing the pineal gland. The best is to sleep in a completely darkened room.
There is also an alternative therapy available to all generally known as ‘Breathwork’, based on meditation practises of the Eastern tradition and an ancient tool of shamanism. This is especially helpful in combating CFS. General wellbeing and health are enhanced and energy levels are boosted.
