Fresh peppermint and peppermint leaves have been very popular, have been used throughout the ages for many years and continue to be used today. The leaves have long been known for their great taste and for their soothing medicinal properties as well as being an effective relaxant, which can be helpful in treating nervous insomnia, stress, anxiety, and restlessness.

Peppermint has shown to retard the growth of many varieties of bacteria, fungi and micro organisms as well as being very beneficial for coughs as the constituents of peppermint increase the production of saliva, causing frequent swallowing and suppressing the cough reflex. As for sore throats, just gargle several times per day.
