Mercury Poisoning | Amalgam the Toxic Time Bomb

By Viola Woolcott

There is a growing collection of scientific research indicating that mercury in dental amalgam fillings (a substance used filling tooth cavities, consisting of a paste of powdered mercury, silver, and tin - sometimes copper, nickel and zinc - that quickly hardens) is affecting your health as it migrates into the body affecting the immune system. Technology has long caught up with this big lie and it is known that the silver-mercury mixture is as stable or as safe as the myth that Easter bunnies lay Easter eggs. It is a unstable poisonous mixture. With the Jerome Mercury Vapor Analyser, Model 411A dentists can test the presence of mercury vapor after gum has been chewed for 3-5 minutes. It is a very simple procedure.

You are sitting on a Time Bomb

Amalgam fillings are all else but stable. Mercury leaks in every direction, into the tooth, the gum tissue which surrounds the tooth as well as the bone, the air of the mouth, where it will be carried to the nose and from there into the brain, and into the saliva, where it is carried into the bloodstream being methylated by the normal body bacteria into methyl-mercury, which is a dangerous poison that sets the potential for lowering the body’s immune response and resulting in undermining our total health.

People’s mouths have been turned into storage batteries. Saliva which is to a small degree acidic and to a small degree salty, dentists have added metals which interact causing the loss of mercury and the generation of electricity. The currents generated can locally start nerve impulses which affect electrical transmission from the brain into the heart. In turn this may alter the many acupuncture meridians passing through the face meaning that a problem starting in a tooth can influence a muscle or organ system. Dentists cannot introduce a metal into a patient’s mouth without biological effects.

Some of the devastating health affects that could be caused by amalgam fillings in your teeth are:

>> Addison’s disease
>> Allergies
>> Alzheimer’s
>> Amylotrophic lateric sclerosis
>> Ankylosing spondylitis
>> Anorexia nervosa
>> Anxiety
>> Asthma
>> Attention defecit hyperactivity disorder -ADHD
>> Autoimmune disease
>> Bipolar disorder
>> Bleeding gums
>> Borderline personality disorder
>> Bulimia
>> Candidiasis
>> Chronic fatigue syndrome - CFS
>> Colitis
>> Crohn’s disease
>> Depression
>> Dim vision
>> Endocrine disorder
>> Environmental illness
>> Facial paralysis
>> Fibromyalgia
>> Food allergies
>> Gastritis
>> Headaches
>> Hypogonadism
>> Hypothyroidism
>> Increased salivation
>> Infertility
>> Insomnia
>> Irregular heartbeat
>> Irritability
>> Irritable bowel syndrome - IBS
>> Joint pains
>> Juvenile arthritis
>> Learning disabilities
>> Lupus erythromatosus
>> Manic depression
>> Multiple chemical sensitivities
>> Multiple sclerosis
>> Myasthenia gravis
>> Obsessive-compulsive disorder - OCD
>> Pains in lower back
>> Panic attacks
>> Parkinson’s disease
>> Pervasive development disorder
>> Psychosis
>> Retinal bleeding
>> Rheumatoid arthritis
>> Schizophrenia
>> Sciatica
>> Sleep disorder
>> Sour metallic taste
>> Uncontrollable eye movement
>> Vertigo
>> Yeast syndrome

Symptoms come and go which can lead to the ‘victim’ having various periods of weeks or maybe even years of being very functional as well as productive, to changing to periods of being totally unproductive and having a rough, hard time of doing anything. As the poisoning continuous, the productive periods become visibly shorter, fewer and to a greater degree farther between. Emotional changes can occur due to mercury poisoning, followed by depression. The victim feels listless and fatigued. There is a lack of motivation, loss of interest even in their surroundings and most of the time even in their own life. Tenseness, hopelessness, lack of joy of life, constant fear. Every small problem seems overwhelming, insurmountable and discouraging. The mercury intoxicated person is in a altered emotional state which may lead to impaired interpersonal relationships, irritability and sensitivity.

It is very unlikely that everyone experiences and suffers from acute toxicity effects due to the mercury in amalgam fillings. BUT, virtually everyone has mercury build up in their body from the effects of such fillings. Only time will tell how much damage is caused by the daily exposure to mercury. The fillings should be removed only by dentists which are experienced in the safe removal procedure and with proper evaluation and placement of composite fillings as both can be crucial in the successful treatment. To determine which composite material can be safely used, biocompatible tests are of importance.

  1. Thanks a lot for your care.
I would be very interested in a few explanations from you :

    - What are the ALTERNATIVES to MERCURY FILLINGS.
    These ALTERNATIVES must also be AFFORDABLE ;
I know that ceramic fillings , for instance, are quite out of reach of most purses.

Why is not the usual RESIN
( RESIN for teeth restoration, of which I have some specimens in my mouth )
which seems to be a very sturdy and well accepted substance by the body,
suggested by dentists as an ALTERNATIVE to MERCURY AMALGAM ?

thanks a lot, in advance, for the attention to my questions.

RICHARD / from NANTES / France.

  2. Hi Richard - there are quite a few alternatives to Mercury/Amalgam Fillings. The damage to your teeth will determine the extent as well as which treatment is most suitable for you. I would suggest it is best to find an “Alternative Dentist” in your country.

As far as the “being affordable” goes, it varies and like I said before, it depends on the “damage” to your teeth, which will determine the extent as well as the treatment. It really depends on you, what it’s worth to you and what you choose in the end. As far as I am concerned, I would NOT have Mercury/Amalgam fillings. I would always opt for my health, as that is the most important to me.
