Write it down, get it out. There is power in the expression of writing! And it doesn’t matter much if it is a few pages or a few lines, but keeping a journal has many benefits as well as advantages.
Through journaling you can collect and track a lot of information that you can easily retain for future reference and you can keep record of your thoughts and experiences and how you were feeling. By committing yourself to writing it all down, you put your experiences, your thoughts into a solid form.
Here are a few of the benefits of keeping a journal:
>> Through journaling you will see and understand what it is that you want, what you value, what is important to you, how you are feeling and by writing it all down, you can create goals as well as resolutions that will support what you are thinking and what you are putting down on paper.
>> Journaling creates more intense personal awareness, therefore focus on particular issues that are important to you.
>> Journals can be great gifts to others and to yourself. Consider the benefits of journaling and think about the benefits of insights and power it can give to someone else or YOU.
>> Journaling provides you with personal growth as well as freedom and can be a great tool in helping you to understand yourself better and even the world around you.
>> Its an excellent tool in supporting you with organisation. Write down your goals and what it is you like to accomplish for today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, or the rest of your lifetime. Create a personal checklist of all the things you want to do.
>> It has been proven that journaling has the benefits of reducing stress as whatever it is you write down, (be it on paper or your computer) takes weight of your shoulders. Writing gives yourself the power of self-expression and by expressing yourself you may gain clarity and relief by letting go.
>> Journaling can be started today, stopped tomorrow, and picked up again at any time. As it is your journal, you can start and stop as you want.
>> Journaling means making time for yourself and you will notice the benefits that you gain from doing something specifically for you. Wherever you go, you will carry the time you spend with yourself with you and it could show up in areas of your life.
>> Journaling acts as a good personal reminder. If you keep writing about the same thing over and over again, it can support your ideas of what is working in certain areas of your life and what is not, as you would notice patterns, shifts as well as changes.
>> It is like telling your own story to yourself, as you make notes of your personal experiences, dreams, desires, ideas, thoughts, feelings etc. for you to reflect on what is going on now and in the future.
>> There are many ways to keep a journal, you can record and track business, financial or personal information. By keeping a business journal, you can track meetings, finances, appointments, and even log data. By keeping a personal journal, you can track health, diet, hobbies, travel, family, dreams, feelings or whatever you like to make notes of.
>> Even if you do not re-read your journal, you can gain benefits from keeping record of your own story, your thoughts, your feelings and it helps you understand as well as accept yourself and others better. It is writing about how you see and experience life.
>> Being aware of what happens in the past can teach you and support you in the future as you can compare and also explore previous times in your life.
>> Journaling is a treasured keepsake… like a written scrapbook… a catalogue of you experiences… your memories. Memories are an irreplaceable treasure you can look or read in years to come and if you like you can share it with others.
