Iridology, Iris Examination Predicting Future Health Issues

Iridology is a diagnostic method that examines the changes or patterns in the iris of the eye as indications of health as well as disease. It dates back hundreds of years, even though the first iris map was only developed in 1837 by a Hungarian Doctor named Ignatz von Pezcely. He has been known as the father of iridology. In his childhood, Dr. von Pezcely captured an injured owl in his backyard which suffered with a broken leg. When he noticed a black line in one of the owl’s eyes, which changed into a white line after healing, he started a life-long interest as well as study of iridology. Many scientists, health professionals and doctors have studied iridology since than.
Iridology is also known as iridodiagnosis. Iridologists believe that the patterns, colours as well as many other characteristics of the iris hold information and through examination of the iris the practitioner gathers information about a client’s systemic health. Observations are matched to iris charts which divide the iris into zones that the practitioner believes to correspondent to certain parts of the human body. It is believed that the eye is the ‘window’ into the state of the body’s health and that during examination the practitioner can highlight systems and organs that are healthy as well as those which are ‘overactive, inflamed, toxic, or distressed’, which point to a client’s susceptibility towards particular illnesses or maybe to reflect past medical issues, or even to predict future health issues which may be in the process of developing. In the iris, in a well defined area every organ and part of the body is represented. Nature reveals inherited weaknesses and strengths through a number of marks, signs and discolouration in the iris.
Iridology is a non-invasive, safe and inexpensive method of treatment that can also be integrated into both orthodox as well as complementary medicine. The eye (iris and pupil) is one of the most intricate structures in nature, even though it is one of the most visible parts of the human body. Thousands and thousands of nerve endings are connected to the brain through the hypothalamus which give out information of the conditions in all rgans as well as the system of the body. The iris registers processes like inflammation or congestion of bodily tissue, which enables the therapist to determine the root causes of presently existing disorders. A good example could be that a toxic digestive system may be the cause for seemingly unrelated health problems like skin disorders, migraine or maybe joint problems.
Iridology hasn’t yet been given full recognition, acceptance and credibility by doctors and the public. The capability of the eye to reveal so much information about a person’s general health sounds doubtful to some, but for those spending their lives devoted to this science, find its benefits of holistic healing more than rewarding.
