Fuel Prices: Motorists are Ripped Off
Fuel Prices: Motorists are Ripped Off

Decreases in fuel prices are very welcome. Still, I think the oil companies are ripping us motorists off once again. It’s not that long ago, before prices sharply escalated and the difference between unleaded petrol and diesel was between 2-4 pence per litre. The prices went up and the difference in price widened to around 13-15 pence per litre. Us diesel owners grumbled, there really is some arithmatical logic here. Now the situation is that the price of unleaded has come back down again to the previous level, but the difference with diesel stays at 13-15 pence!
I don’t think any of us have seen any attempts by the oil companies (or anyone else for that matter) to explain the situation or maybe even justify any of this. That leaves me to believe that we are being conned. Of course, to the benefit of the oil companies.
