Foods labelled organic must meet strict standards. It has been recognised that our health is directly related to the food that we eat and therefore also the health of the soil.
Concerns are growing about the very high use of routine antibiotic additives to speed animal growth as well as wormers in farmed animals and the effects on our health. Instead of dosing the animals with drugs, they are more frequently moved to new fresh pasture to manage the parasite issues. Organic animals are reared without the routine use of drugs. The care for the animals is taken very seriously.

Organic food is healthier, it contains on average higher levels of Vitamin C, cancer fighting antioxidants as well as essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron and chromium.
It has been known that organic food is far juicier, full of flavour and definitely top for taste. Even some of the top chefs choose organic and get involved in the Soil Association food awards every year.
In non-organic farming over 400 pesticides are used routinely. Recently the UK government has found high levels of pesticide residues in baby food, dried fruit, spinach, apples, bread, celery as well as chips.
