Barcodes You Should Know

There is no legislation forcing manufacturers to clearly disclose where products are made, even though consumers don’t want to “buy blind” any longer. There is a way though to determine the country of origin of a particular item – the barcode.

Next time you wonder where a product comes from, where it has been made, check out the first three numbers of the barcode. If you see the digits are 690-695, then without a doubt it is made in China.

480 Philippines
50 UK
57 Denmark
64 Finland
76 Switzerland and Liechtenstein
628 Saudi Arabia
