Are You a Substitute for Your True Self?
Are You a Substitute for Your True Self?
By Viola Woolcott
Every word and thought adds to your life experience. Thoughts produce emotions and emotions result in how you feel about a certain event that happens in your life. Even when two people look at exactly the same event, they have opposite feelings about it. With the thoughts you choose to think, with the words you say, you are creating your very own subjective reality, moment by moment both to yourself as well as others and your subjective reality impinges on the physical reality through the power of Spirit.
To most people it is like a foreign language and they do not realise that they can change their actions… feelings… thoughts… beliefs… AND their identity and they are rather perceived as the outcome of influences upon him. People feel ‘moulded’ and in effect with few choices. Most think that life just ‘happens’ to them and everything is always OTHER’S fault. But then the truth is, that everyone is responsible for their life and for the quality of his life – therefore, there is no reason why we can’t change things around. You have the ability to manifest your dreams, to take life to a new conscious level.
Recent events have proven a tremendous desire for more and more people in the world wanting peace in their lives and many people have become aware that by having peace in the world, we first have to make peace with ourselves and our own lives. Only than will we be capable of making such a transformation. Lets face it, our experience in the world reflects our inner state – we mirror our internal state… our resistance and fears… our acceptance and love… and as a group, we also mirror our consciousness in world events…that’s the reality… I think that it is our personal responsibility to become aware of our own contribution we add to the group consciousness as that is the only way to create a world with better and more opportunities for ourselves, each other and our loved ones, which will ultimately lead to a better world for everyone.
So what wars are going on inside of us? What are the purposes and goals that we hold so dearly? Some of them we may have brought into our life or felt most strongly as a child or young person about and they were very often accepted rather than wanted. By trying to achieve them, we may forget about them or maybe even suppress them as we rather opted for a safer solution. We still want to “play” and playing the safe game is a very sad conflict, as we have become somebody different. We become a substitute for our true self.
As I already said, first we have to make peace with ourselves if we want to contribute toward peace in the world. We cannot love others unconditionally if we are not able to love ourselves genuinely. We cannot forgive and stop judging others before forgiving ourselves and accepting ourselves JUST as we are. Only by forgiving ourselves, we can more easily forgive someone else. We clearly don’t love ourselves, if we haven’t learned to forgive others. Forgiving yourself means that you “take back” the energy that you given away in the first place and as it frees you to be yourself again you will be a new, happier and also wiser you. By loving yourself, we and others won’t ever need forgiveness as we are able to accept all, the past, the present and the future for what it is without making any judgements.
This is something to remember:
There is absolutely no beauty that we could perceive or create if it weren’t already within us.
