Alcohol and Weight Loss | Alcohol STOPS the body from burning fat

We all know how it is after a hard days work. You come home, are trying to get the kids to bed and all you can think about is to chill out. Many of us do that by having a few to many glasses of wine with their dinner.

Don’t think that I am saying you should stop having the odd drink with dinner, or even cutting alcohol right down. A couple of glasses with dinner is fine. But be aware that when you are trying to loose weight, the alcohol content isn’t the only issue. It is the way your body metabolises it.

Drinking alcohol brings the burning of fat to a complete stop.

Did you know that when you ingest alcohol that it passes through the stomach and intestine? From there into your bloodstream and then ends up in the liver? The liver converts it into ‘acetaldehyde’ and then into ‘acetate’. Instead of carbohydrates, protein or fat your body will burn ‘acetate’ first.

Remember three things when consuming alcohol:

=> 1. When consuming alcohol, eat fat and protein with it, It slows down the speed of absorption. And fat and protein line the stomach walls as well as the small intestine.

=> 2. You should only consume wine from organic sources without pesticides and fertilisers.

=> 3. Drink alcohol in moderation - enjoy!

Make some simple changes and improve your health. Cut your alcohol intake with dinner and instead of three glasses have two and than one. Intensify your exercise routine and of course make a few changes to your diet to lower your body fat.
