Achieving Your Own Happiness | Your Happiness is Up to You
Achieving Your Own Happiness | Your Happiness is Up to You
By Viola Woolcott
During my life I have come across many, many people who said that it is more important to make others happy than it is making yourself happy. For a start, there is the fact that you cannot “give away” what you don’t have yourself. And if you yourself aren’t happy, how can you make someone else happy?
The key measure of your own success, of how well you are doing is determined by your ability to achieve your own happiness. So don’t listen when people say it is wrong to put your own happiness ahead of everyone else’s. BIG myth! Nonsense!
The answer to happiness has been the same throughout history. You have to dedicate yourself by doing what you love doing, by developing your “natural” talents as well as your abilities. Your happiness depends on your ability to “please” yourself in all areas of your life. Happiness happens when you are living your life in the very best way possible. You are the only one who can define your happiness, as it is an “inside” job.
It is a huge commitment, but being happy involves that you identify your life in your own “terms and conditions”. Imagine yourself living the life YOU’VE always dreamed of, the life YOU’VE always wanted; stress free and truly happy. To grow to a point where you can be unselfish for the rest of your life entails that you please yourself first and be perfectly selfish. Live your life to the fullest and throw your whole heart into it.
It is as simple as removing the clutter from your life and taking control. You have to be unconcerned with the opinions and judgments of others and your dream can become reality!
There are a few things to consider that may start you off putting ideas into action.
First of all, YOU have to choose to be happy. Than you must believe in yourself. Trust your own feelings, your intuition. Please yourself in all things.
Arrange your life (at home and work) in a way so that you can do the things you really love and enjoy.
And when you know what it is that you love and enjoy and what gives the most pleasure, the most happiness to others, arrange your life so that you can do more of it.
You can only make others happy if you start living the kind of life and doing the kind of things that make you happy.
