5 Essential Things You Need To Ask About Eggs

Did you know that even most organic eggs come from hens that have been vaccinated against Salmonella? It is written inside the egg boxes!

The Dare2baware consumer would almost certainly ask the following questions:

1. How fresh are the eggs? (Expiration or sell-by date, use by or best before, packaging date).

2. Are the hens kept ‘Certified Humane’? (NO antibiotics, NO hormones) ALSO, if they have been vaccinated against Salmonella? (If so, DO NOT buy them).

3. Is the land where the hens are kept certified organic?

4. Are the hens fed vegetarian organic foods?

5. During the winter months, are the hens exposed to artificial light early in the morning to ‘make’ them produce eggs?
